Albany hospital gets extra 68m volts from water pumps

Some Albany hospitals havnatyasastra.come received 68.5 megawatts of extra power for emergency situations, Mayor Kathy Sheehy announced Friday.

The power supply to four hospitals in the city's northern neighborhoods is being restored because of water problems that started late last week, Sheehy said.

In addition to the power restored, there are three generators that may be damaged, Sheehy said.

She said no injuries have been reported at any of the hospitals.

The water problem began in two areas of Albany around 10 a.m. on Friday. Herceg has told them there was a problem with one generator running, she said.

The utility says the problem has been resolved and the emergency is now under control.

The city has also sent out warning letters to the homes of some residents saying the generator supply may be damaged, but residents have not taken damage to their properties as a result of the problem.

Sheehy says there are no significant structural issues at all at the four hospitals.

Sheehy told the crowd in front of the Water and Light Department building, where emergency generators are being restored, that the city should "take care of this prob바카라lem with the best intentions."

She said she wanted Albany to "take care of this problem with the best intentions."

Emergency Power

The electricity that's being sent to the four hospitals is part of the city's effort to recover water that's been lost during recent storm events.

At a community meeting in the East Bay City Council chambers Friday afternoon, the city began handing out free bottled water. The water was provided free to hundreds who were in the building, Sheehy said.

-- A group of people who tried to cut the top of a tree to remove a manhole cover have been arrested.

The group made it to a manhole cover that was removed at the end of Thursday night's rain. The manhole cover was the first to be removed since Friday.

The suspects will appear before Albany County Judge Joseph O'Donnell on Saturday morning.
